In the Heart of Ireland

We are lucky to be located in the centre of Ireland, just over an hours drive from Dublin city on the east coast and Galway city on the west coast. Both cities are great day trips and we can recommend places of interest and lovely restaurants in each city.  Trains from Tullamore can bring you right into Galway city centre. Dublin city centre is also accessible by train from Tullamore, with a short Luas tram ride from Heuston Station to the city centre.

In our local area, we have activities and attractions to suit every visitor. There are an abundance of walking and cycling trails and some excellent golf courses nearby including Esker HIlls Golf Course famous as Shane Lowry’s home club. We have two whiskey distilleries nearby, each within a 15 minute drive from the farm and offering visitor tours and tastings. The Slieve Bloom mountains, Lough Boora Discovery Park and Grand Canal Greenway are all easily accessible by car for those who like to get out in the fresh Offaly air.

Offaly has several historical sites which are also worth a visit including Birr Castle, the ancient monastery at Clonmacnoise. Durrow Abbey and High Cross is nearby, famous for the Book of Durrow which predates the Book of Kells by over a century!
